This material was downloaded from BIX (Byte Information Xchange) on
29-May-89. The only changes I had to make in the distribution were:
(1) Split the binary and help files off onto another disk. These
consume all of disk 215. Only the source to the MandelVroom
executable is found here on disk 214.
(2) On disk 215, added a script to create the necessary assigns (such
as Mandelbrot:) using c:iconx. This means that you probably will
need to be running AmigaDOS version 1.3 or later.
(3) On disk 215, zoo'd a few of the project files (in project.zoo) in
order to make room on this disk. Zoo is widely available on BBS's
and on other disks in my library.

MandelVroom v2.0 ... The *BEST* Mandelbrot generating program ever for Ami
Here is Kevin Clague's v2.0 release of MandelVroom (released 05/18/89). It
is quite probably the best Mandelbrot/Julia-curve generating program
available for the Amiga!
It features 5 numerical generators (integer, ffp, ieee, 020, and 020/881) in
hand-crafted assembly for maximum speed, online mouse-selectable help for all
functions, allows multiple pictures to be generated simultaneously, has a
sophisticated (and *pretty*) user interface with shaded gadgets, etc.
Also, zoom, magnify, color-cycling, contouring, auto-contouring, histogram,
statistics, presets, extra-halfbrite, overscan, orbits, pan mode, ...
This is a superb effort, and has been widely acclaimed on USENET by those
BADGE folk who have seen it (Hi, Tom; Stuart). It requires at least a Meg,
but will use as much as is available (for multiple pictures, etc.)
This is the *complete* distribution, with full source code, and a number of
very nice pictures (in addition to the executable, docs, and help files).
The source alone provides excellent examples of just about anything you might
want to do with Intuition, and is very instructive as example material.
You'll need to unZoo this to two floppies, or a hard disk, and be sure to
use x// when unZoo'ing.
A real MUST for anyone serious about Mandelbrots, fractals, or excellent
graphical interfaces in general. Sorry, no HAM support (yet) ... :-)
